Short Biography
Prof. Dr. Ir. Hari Muhammad is a professor in Flight Mechanics, at Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). He obtained his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from ITB in 1984, and received his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology (TUD), in 1995. During these time, he also actively participated in the design and flight testing of CN-235 and N-250 aircraft at the Indonesian Aircraft Industries (IAe, then IPTN), from 1983 to 1998, and in the preliminary design of N2130 aircraft , before the program was cancelled in 1998. These experiences led him to be the lead engineers in various govermental aeropace projects, including the development of Wing in Surface Effect Craft (2002-2008), and the development of Core Technology Flight Simulator to support the KFX/IFX fighter aicraft program between Korea and Indonesia (2013-2018). He was also appointed as a member of the Technical Review and Safety Board (TSRB) of N-219 at the IAe (2018-2020), and as an Independent Commissioner of PT GMF AeroAsia Tbk. (2017-2018).
Hari has joined FTMD academic staff since 1984, handling courses in Aerospace Engineering, including Flight Performance, Flight Dynamics, Flight Control, Flight Simulation, Flight Testing, and Aircraft System Identifications. He also has been appointed for various structural positions including the Secretary of Academic Affairs of the Department of Aerospace Engineering (1999-2002), the Vice Dean of General Resource at the Faculty of Industrial Technology (2002-2004), the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Industrial Technology (2005-2007), the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (2008-2015), and the Dean of Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung (2015-2020). He was also the Chairman of the Flight Physics Research Group from 2008 to2018. His current research interest is on Flight Dynamics, Flight Performance, Flight Control, Flight Simulation, and Flight Testing of fixed wing aircraft, as well as UAV/UAS/Drones.
