Short Biography
Dr.Eng. Ridanto Eko Poetro ST, M.Sc., is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). He started his study in Aerospace Engineering at ITB in 1988, and obtained his Sarjana Teknik (B.Sc) degree from ITB in 1994. Shortly after, he worked at Indonesian Aircraft Industries (PT IPTN, now PT Dirgantara Indonesia) in the Division of Flight Test Center. After 2 years work, he was granted a Scholarship from PT IPTN to do Master program in College of Aeronautics of Cranfield University, and obtained MSc degree in Astronautics and Space Engineering in 1999.
In 2000, he resigned from PT IPTN and started to fully work as lecturer in ITB. In March of 2002 he was granted the Monbukagakusho Scholarship from the Government of Japan, which allowed him to start his Doctoral Program at the Graduate School of Engineering in Kyushu University, in Japan. His topic is focused on interplanetary trajectory design. He defended his research and received his doctoral degree in March 2006. From 2006, he has been promoted as an assistant professor in the Flight Physics research group of ITB, where he was responsible to teach subjects including Astrodynamics, Satellite Attitude Dynamics and Control, and Rocket Flight Mechanics.
